Reason for Fat Supplementation

There are two main reasons for adding fat to ruminant rations. Firstly, to increase the energy intake in order to minimize energy gap and control loss of body condition. secondly to increase the percentage of butterfat. In addition. it also offers the following benefits:

1. Flexibility in formulation while marinating energy intake without sacrificing fiber intake in the diet. 

2. Persistency in lactation is improved.
